Fr. Marc Hopps

Pastor

Father Marc Hopps was born in Bay City and his family were members of St. Vincent de Paul Church, now Saint Catherine of Siena Parish.  He attended All Saints High School, after Holy Trinity Elementary, then University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Catholic studies.  He attended Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, completing a Masters in Divinity and a degree in Theology (STB).  He was ordained to the priesthood on May 31, 2019 by Bishop Walter Hurley and served as parochial vicar at Holy Spirit Parish in Shields from July 1, 2019 for one year.  He has served since July 1, 2020 at St. Brigid of Kildare Parish in Midland and St. Mary University Parish in Mt. Pleasant.  Fr. Marc is looking forward to his journey here at St. Gabriel and to serving as the Pastor here​.

Janet Woronoff

Bookkeeper

Janet began working as Bookkeeper at St. Gabriel in September 2014.  She has a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Saginaw Valley State University and ministered through her work at the Bay County Sheriff Department for 30 years. She is widowed, a mother of grown twins, David and Rachel, and grandmother of three:  Micayla, Kate and Ryan. She is a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish in Bay City where she serves as Eucharistic Minister, Lector and Parish Council member.

Misty Michelle

​Youth Minister

Misty is a graduate of All Saints Central High School, Davenport University and Northwood University with degrees in Marketing and Business Management.  She is the mother of 4 children and grandmother of 4.  She has been involved in youth ministry for over 23 years and delights in every opportunity to serve the Lord and our community in various capacities.  Her passions are working with children, mentoring, event planning, all things nature and traveling.

Sue LeVasseur

Clark Switalski

Music Director

Sue has been playing the piano in church and school since the 5th grade. She has a Certificate in Sacred Music from Delta College and has over 45 years of experience in Music Ministry. She has been at St. Gabriel for 20 years.  Her goal as the Music Director is to promote active and conscious participation in the Liturgy by all who attend Mass.

Auburn Area Catholic School Principal

Clark has been teaching for 10 years in various grades.  He received a BA in Elementary education from Michigan State University and a Masters in Administration from Central Michigan University.  He attended Gaylord St. Mary's Catholic School for 13 years and truly knows the difference a Catholic Education can provide for children.  His goal is to provide a quality education while instilling the Catholic principles in the lives of the students.
