In the Sunday 9:30 AM Mass, during the Liturgy of the Word (the readings and the homily) children, age four through 4th grade, are invited to join a catechist in a separate space for Children's Liturgy of the Word.  It is offered whenever a catechist is available and does not require registration.
Children rejoin the adult congregation at the beginning of the Liturgy of the Eucharist (shortly after the homily is presented). 
By offering a separate Liturgy of the Word for children, we hope to facilitate a deeper, more easily understood Scripture for them.  It is proclaimed in a simpler vocabulary and the discussion includes situations that are applicable to children.
Children must have the ability to sit still and understand that it is still church; it is not a class and therefore their behavior must reflect the environment they are in.
