During the 10:30 AM liturgy, children ages 4 through 5th grade are invited to join a catechist during the Liturgy of the Word.  This is the readings and homily portion of the mass.  Children rejoin the adult congregation at the beginning of the Liturgy of the Eucharist.  That would be shortly after the homily is presented.  By offering a separate Liturgy of the Word for Children, we hope to facilitate a deeper, more easily understood scripture for children.  It is proclaimed in an easier vocabulary and the discussion includes situations that are applicable to children.  This is offered on a weekly basis and does not require registration.  However, children must have the ability to sit still and understand that it is still church; it is not a class and therefore their behavior must reflect the environment they are in.  For further information please contact the Director of Religious Education, Kellie Deming at info@auburnac.org or by calling the parish office at 662-6861.
